He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Matthies and Margaret Matthies (Sweet); and his wife Marjorie Jandro of Walcott Township. He is survived by: his children, Ann Lobban (Gary) of Woodway, TX, Kevin Matthies (Jayme) of San Antonio, TX, Pam Matthies of Faribault, Lisa Berger (Charlie) of Lorena, TX and Michael Matthies of St. Peter; his grandchildren, Johnny Matthies (Lauren), Nikki Lobban, Blake Lobban (Brittney), Kyle Matthies (Maddie), Collin Matthies, Ashlie Baker, Stacy Christensen (Jeremey), Rickey Winsky (Kelsey), Preston, Lauren and Megan Berger; his great grandchildren, Anderson Belle, Harley, Jace, Taj, Zoey, Seveth, Blaine, Braxton, Jayston, Jacob and Skyleigh; and his brothers, Gary and Denny Matthies (Kathy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
