He was loved and cherished by many people including: wife: Carol Richards; daughters: Christine (Mike) Mackai, Carla (Syd) Swanson, Charlene (Dominic) Blume and Cynthia (Jesse) Folk; grandchildren: Brandon, Jacob, Miranda, Brooke (Tyren) Mattick, Ashlyn Swanson, Alexa, Whitney, Ava, Charles and Morgan; parents: Steve and Rachel (Sanco) Piekarski; brothers: John (Sandra) Piekarski and James (Sharon) Piekarski; in-laws: Dale and Olivia Richards, Fern Darkow, Shirley Matthews, Ray and Mildred Richards, Robert Darkow, Gerald and Anita Christenson, Lowell Matthews and Troy Matthews; clergy: Father Alan Wielinski, Father Bob Kieffer and Deacon Chuck Kampa; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church (207 N Vine St, Fergus Falls, MN 56537). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
