It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene Fichtel of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Darlene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Darlene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Walls and Mabel Walls (Hatlestad); her husband Thomas Fichtel; her brother Donald Walls; and her sister-in-law Laura Walls.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Jacobson (Randy) of Underwood, Candy Lake of Mesa, AZ, Colleen Sonsteby (Randy) of South Haven, Steve Fichtel (Elaine) of Minneapolis, Michael Fichtel (Caren) of Norman, OK and Julia Tollgaard of Coon Rapids; and her granddaughter Molly Kelly. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
