Eugene Schmidt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eugene Schmidt of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 4, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Eugene is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Eugene's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry E Schmidt and Olga M Schmidt (Nehring); his son Michael (Mike); and his siblings, Francis Schmidt and LaVern Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Maxine Schmidt of Fergus Falls; his children, Margene Newton (Mark) of Rothsay, Brian Schmidt (Jamie Zwilling) of Underwood and DeAnn Sitter (Chuck) of Robins, Iowa; his brother Paul Schmidt (Diane); and his sister-in-law Marcella Wildung. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hope Lutheran Church (1309 Stony Brook Rd, Fergus Falls, MN 56537). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
