It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marlas Cellestine Schmidt of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jens Johansen and Alfreda Johansen (Anderson); her husband Arnold; her son Matthew Schmidt; her sister Jeanette; her brother-in-law LaVern Berg; her sister Hazel; her brother-in-law Orris Torgrimson; her nephews, Todd Torgrimson and Rickie Johansen; and her siblings-in-law, Laura Fanselau (Ervin), Florence Hanneman (Harold "Pat") and Harold Schmidt.
She is survived by: her son Mark Schmidt (Jane); her grandchildren, Sarah, Rebecca (Chris James), Levi and Grace of Darwin, MN; her sons, Randy Schmidt (Heather) of Duluth, MN and Neal Schmidt (Shari); her grandsons, Austin, Ethan Mahrer and Kyler Schmidt of Fergus Falls, MN; her daughter Amy Socha (Robert) of Fergus Falls, MN; her daughter-in-law Sally Schmidt of West Bend, WI; her grandchildren, Christina and Peter; and her great grandchildren, Preston and Zealand Mahrer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
