He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Gunderson and Ragna Gunderson (Salvesen); his son Timothy Jon; his former wife Carol; his sister Randi Hogan; his siblings-in-law, Olive Helland, Luella Helland, Mabel Helland, Ruth Helland, Lloyd Helland, Harland Helland and Jim Hogan; his parents-in-law, Oscar Helland and Hattie Helland; and his niece Heidi Helland.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Gunderson; his stepchildren, Pam Kerber (Cy) of Chanhassen, Brenda Stoen (Michael) of Fergus Falls, Barbara Erickson (Ron) of Williston, ND, Rachel Barrett of Chanhassen and Michael Walvatne (Rachael) of Eden Prairie; and his nieces and nephews, Joan Soholt (Jim), Carolyn Penner (Tim), Bob Helland (Terri), Larry Helland (Pam), John Helland (Terri), Bill Helland (Sally), Mark Helland (Cathie) and Wayne Helland (Lisa). He is also survived by 18 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren.
