He is survived by: his friends, Virgil and Bev; his wife Caroline; his children, Marty Berg (Reitta), Lori Lien (Keith), Monte Berg (Jane) and Rick Nelson (Samantha); his grandchildren, Megan Schwantz (Chuck), Preston Berg (Susie), Zachary Hagedorn, Amber Hagedorn, Jordan Berg, Ricky Nelson Jr., Melissa Catterlin, Ciara Lawrence (Tim) and Obi Nelson; his stepgrandson Robbie Thompson (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Gunner Schwantz, Brooklyn, Maddie Berg, Eden, Isaiah Hagedorn, Lillie Nelson, Lucas Moss, Wyatt, Nolan and Cassie Catterlin; his sister Mavis Schleske (Sheldon); and his sister-in-law Carol Nodsle. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home (301 E Washington Ave, Fergus Falls, MN 56537). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
