He was predeceased by : his parents, Leonard Gabbert and Caryl Gabbert (Sleight); and his siblings, Roger Gabbert and Roberta Tryggestad. He is survived by : his children, Martha Halley, Nancy Cook, Jamie Gabbert of Portland, OR and Dean Gabbert of Foley; his sister Caryl Len Gabbert of Columbia, SC; and his wife Marlene Ebeling (Ebeling). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
