He is survived by : his siblings, Cynthia, Virgil, Walt, Earl, Christian and Gladys Selchert of Glenwood, SD.; his former life partner Julie Sandersfeld of Iowa; his wife Joanne of Scandia, MN.; his son Scott (Jennifer); and his stepchildren, Lisa (Sylvan), Shari (Erick) and Ken.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lakes Lutheran Church (25402 Itasca Ave N, Forest Lake, MN 55025). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, February 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM.
