In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Joel leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Joel may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce Hawes and Gladys Bacon; his stepfather Hubert Bacon; and his daughter Sonja Hawes. He is survived by: his sons, Donovan Bacon of Alaska and Joshua Hawes of Andover, MN; his sisters, Julie Bacon of Vermont and Janet Halvorson (Jim) of Lakeville, MN; his niece Kiersten Manthey (Chris); and his nephew Kurtis Elliott (Kristen).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home (1111 25th Ave S, St Cloud, MN 56301). The military honors will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
