Richard Nienaber Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of Richard Nienaber of Freeport, Minnesota is shared. Richard, born on February 24, 1936, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Nienaber (Borgerding) and Theodor Nienaber; his wife Mildred; his son Clifford; and his siblings, Victor, Bernard, Harvey and Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Nienaber-Gapinski (Rick), Daniel Nienaber (Cindy), Michael Nienaber (Sue) and Charles Nienaber (Sheri); and his siblings, Roman, Eileen, Mary Ann and Henry. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (106 3rd Ave NE, Freeport, MN 56331).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart School in Freeport.
