It is with sadness that the passing of Thomas Stangler of Freeport, Minnesota is shared. Thomas, born on May 2, 1940, passed away on September 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Stangler and Christine Stangler (Arnzen); his sons, Frank Stangler and Harold Stangler; his son-in-law Ronald Blenker; his granddaughter Rebecca; and his siblings, Marie, Margie, Norbert, Ralph, Regina, Irene and Donald.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy Stangler of Melrose; his children, Betty Cole (Terry) of New Munich, Kathy Blenker of Freeport, Diane Arceneau (Dennis) of St. Martin, Mike Stangler of Melrose, Tom Stangler (Phyllis) of Melrose, Stephen Stangler of Melrose and Dan Stangler (Beckey) of Melrose; and his daughter-in-law Brenda Stangler of Pine City. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home (418 Fifth Ave SE, Melrose, MN 56352). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
