He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gerdeen and Barbara Gerdeen; and his siblings, James "Jim" Gerdeen, Charlotte Oswood (Gerdeen) and Robert "Bob" Gerdeen.
He is survived by: his nephew Jon; his wife Marilyn; his children, Anna Gerdeen and Andrew Gerdeen; his grandson Jacob Gerdeen; his sister Lola Hoes (Gerdeen); and his brother-in-law Donald "Don" Hoes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (61 Mississippi St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55432). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Crystal Lake Cemetery (3816 N Penn Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55412). A reception will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Salem Lutheran Church (4150 Dupont Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55412).
