He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Steichen and Virginia Steichen (Webster); his parents-in-law, Frank and Rose Niederhofer; his sister Peggy Pedersen; and his sister-in-law Natalie Clinch.

He is survived by: his significant other Marlene; his sons, Steve (Gretchen), Stuart (Kristie) and Thomas (Sheila); his siblings, Nick Steichen (Anita), Lynne Loftus and Mary Baumann (Steve); and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Geoffrey (Sara), Patrick, Frances, Maeve, Ava and Charlie. He is also survived by his sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and siblings.
