He was predeceased by : his wife Bonnie Hanslick (Mielke); his sister Jane Bauer (Hanslick); his children, Brenna, Brian and Ryan Hanslick; and his parents, Cleveland Hanslick and Esther Hanslick (Remus).
He is survived by : his son Michael Hanslick (Joo Young Yu); his grandchild Teo Yu Hanslick of St. Paul; and his daughter Jodi Hanslick of Minneapolis.
The family urges people to donate to the American Kidney Fund – http://www.kidneyfund.org – in memoriam to John. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the church be given to Immanuel Lutheran Memorial Piano Fund.
