He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Edwin and Alice Helget; his brothers, Andrew, Benedict Jr. and Gerald Beranek; his brothers-in-law, Donald Ludewig, Eldon Helget, Tom Ricke, Francis Schwab and Larry Herring; and his parents, Benedict Beranek and Valeria Beranek (Brey).
He is survived by: his wife Donna Rae Beranek; his children, Tim Beranek of Gibbon and Sheila Katzung (Kelly) of Owatonna; his grandchildren, Kayle Balzer (Scott), Jacob Katzung (Kalley), Joshua Katzung and Jace Katzung (Amy Jentges); his great grandchildren, Brantley, Brinley Balzer and Vincent Katzung; his sisters, Esther Schwab, Virginia Herring, Grace Rubischko (Steve) and Chubby Carlson (Jerry); and his siblings-in-law, Noreen Beranek, Cindy Beranek, Myron (Whitey), Wesley (Laurie), Daniel (Sue), Harlan (Nita), Lowell (Connie), Bobby (Lori), Brian Helget (Janee), Kathy Ludewig, Linda Helget, Luella Ricke, LaNatte Hanson (Bill), Rolene Fromm (Mark), Janice Schauman (Jon) and Betsy Jensen (Randy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
