He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert G. Garrity and Martha H. Garrity Sr. (Kantola); and his brother J. C.. He is survived by : his children, Roberta and Tom; his siblings, Diane Hyppa (Edwin), Jeanne Jordahl (Bruce), Richard Garrity (Gayle), Denise Reid (Jim) and Michael Garrity; and his nephew Ashley. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces.

Bob donated his body to the University of Minnesota.

“I am so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I have been trying to reach him. I last spoke with Bob on May 3. Bob and I shared many stories as his Grandmother Jenny Kentola and my Grandmother Margaret Mary Haverinen were sisters. I had visited him in Gilbert a number of times and was looking forward to seeing him again this Fall. I will miss him deeply. I would love to make contact.
