He is survived by: his stepmother Bobbie Nelson; his brother-in-law Jeff Spanel; and his siblings, Douglas Nelson (Alison Jones), Stephanie Schmit (Steve), Charlotte Nisleit and Gregory Nelson (Kathy). He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.
