He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Lentz and Violet Lentz (Blume); his wife Marilyn Lentz (Hohenstein); his brothers, Lester, Lawrence and Wilton Lentz; his siblings-in-law, Catherine Lentz, Stanley and Dean Hohenstein; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Verna Hohenstein.
He is survived by: his close friend Sharon Speck-Edwards; his children, Richard "Rick" Lentz of Waseca and Deb Schreiber; his grandchildren, Andrew Schreiber of Portland, OR, Sara Breitbarth (Josh) of Lake Crystal, Jason Case-Lentz (Cory) of Wells and Donell Reich of Mankato; his great grandchildren, Taylor, Sienna, Christian Breitbarth and Hailey Schreiber; his sister Vivian Ziegler (Gene) of Rapidan; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Lentz (Lester) of LeRoy, Sharon Kay Lentz (Wilton) of Rochester, Mary Kay Hohenstein (Stanley) of Vernon Center and Donna Ripple (Travis) of Point Rock, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (137 S Houk St, Good Thunder, MN 56037). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at the Barnard Valley View Cemetery (54578 Goose Rd, Good Thunder, MN 56037).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Legion Post 616, St. John Lutheran Church, St. Croix Hospice or donors choice.
