He was predeceased by : his parents, Lewis Olson and Ruby Olson (Hanson); his daughter Julie Jarvi; and his siblings, Ron Olson, Janice Crawford, Marlene Grant and Lois Paulsen.

He is survived by : his wife Marlene Witte of Becker; his children, Michael Olson (Dannie) of St. Cloud, Linda Olson of Becker and Kay Fletcher (Ronnie) of Richmond, VA; his siblings, Kenneth Olson (Rita) of St. Cloud and Lucille Block of Ortonville; his sister-in-law Marie Olson of St. Cloud; and his grandchildren, Andrew (Beth), Lacey, James, Chloe, Michael Jr. and Benjamin. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the South Santiago Lutheran Church (14675 37th St SE, Clear Lake, MN 55319). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
