He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Niles and Clarissa Niles; his former wife Carol Niles; and his brothers, Dave and John Niles.

He is survived by: his wife Cheri Niles; and his children, Jeff Niles (Georgia), Mary Leitch (Dan), Pete Niles (Laura), Beth Werven (Gerry), Katy Eliason (Doug), Patty Bowman (Chad), Brian Persons (Lyn), Sean Persons (Lois), Kevin Persons (Erin) and Dan Persons (Shannon). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorials preferred to St. Joseph's Catholic School or Second Harvest North Central Food Bank.
