He was predeceased by: his father Leroy H. Dale; and his stepfather Stanley B. Thies. He is survived by: his mother Eileen Thies (Palmer); his wife Lynnea Dale; his children, Christopher Dale (Bethany) of Hill City, SD, Lea Scudamore (Mitchell) of Duluth, MN, Scott Buckingham (Hillary) of Duluth, MN and Lacey Buckingham (Daniel Brown); his granddaughters, Zoey Dale, Elizabeth Scudamore, Gabriella Scudamore, Willow Dale, Eden Dale and Alina Buckingham; and his siblings, Mary Jo Davis (Larry), Lee Thies (Katie) and Patrick Thies (Cheryl). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
