Shawn Nelson Obituary

Shawn Lee Nelson, 59, of Granite Falls, Minnesota, went home to Jesus on June 3, 2025.

A wonderful husband, father, Pappa, brother, and son, Shawn dedicated his life to his family. He worked in concrete as a young adult and later followed in his father-in-law's footsteps, becoming a truck driver — a job he took pride in, every mile of the way. Whether behind the wheel, gathered around the TV with his family watching movies, or splitting wood for winter with his son, Shawn's true joy came from the people he loved.

Every step of the way, his beloved wife, Bonnie, stood by his side — through the good times and the hard times, just like their vows promised. Together, they brought three children into the world whom they loved more than life itself: their oldest son, Daniel; their middle son, Taylor; and their youngest, their only daughter, Emma (Eric). He also cherished his grandchildren: Tre, Lily, Lindsey, Chloe — whom he affectionately called "Bean" — and little Zeke. He is now reunited in heaven with his grandson, Eric, whose arms were surely the first to welcome him home.

Shawn was a man of deep faith. His love for God and his family was evident in everything he did. Now, we find peace in knowing that he is in Heaven with his Creator.

He will be missed beyond words, but the legacy he leaves in the lives and hearts of those he loved will carry on forever.
