She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Sherry and Bernice Sherry (Miller); her grandson Austin Shanks; and her niece Lisa Vojtech. She is survived by: her children, Stacey Claessens (Peter), Chad Elliott (Angie), Amy Sieben (Nick) and Kristin Shanks (Bart); her grandchildren, Cassie, Nathan, Morgan, Madison, Kendal, Carter, Cole, Drew, Cam, Haley and Aubrey; her siblings, Diane Cherry (Bob), Mike Sherry (Deb) and Kathy Berg (Scott); and her godchildren, Megan Schmokel, Josh Cherry, Kelly Nelson and Brett Berg. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close, lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (2035 15th St W, Hastings, MN 55033). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be considered to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research to help find a cure for this devastating disease that Barb fought so fiercely for over 20 years.
