He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer and Hilda; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Friesen, Dave Nyman and Butch Lee.

He is survived by : his wife Judy; his sons, Jim Eggert and Joe Eggert (Sue); his grandchildren, Dan, Sierra, Maddie and Shey; his sister Elaine Lee; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Brown, Steph Nyman and Mike Brown (Nancy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and at 12:00 PM at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Hastings VFW.
