He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Stabenow and Mildred Stabenow (Silvis); and his siblings, Kenneth, Loretta Horstman, Arline Whipple and Lorely Hattenberger.

He is survived by: his wife Marylee; his children, Zachary (Jennifer), Jessica Mager (Kris), Nathan (Vicki) and Benjamin; and his grandchildren, Chase, Ethan, Paige Stabenow, Eli and Aria Mager.
