He is survived by: his mother Helen Johnson (Kurrelmier); his grandsons, Joseph and Matthew; his children, Veronica Schroeder (Joseph), Joseph Johnson and Matthew Johnson (Diana); his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Julianne Schroeder, Richard, Lillian and Robert Johnson; his siblings, Dianne Tingstad (Dave), Bruce Johnson (Cyndi), Kurt Johnson (Bobbi), Shari Robinson (Dan), Sandy Krevinghaus (Rick) and Ron Johnson (Sharon); and his sisters-in-law, Cindy Hepsak and Marilyn Macik (Kim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
