He was predeceased by: his parents, Ove Arndtson and Josie Arndtson (Kragtorp). He is survived by: his wife Eloise Halverson; and his children, Randy (Lynn), Bruce (Brenda), Cheryl Conklin (Jeff), Kent (Gary), Scot (Kim), Wendy Human (Jeff) and Kari Seaman (Richard). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Disabled Vets, Hastings Family Service or towards a memorial bench are preferred in his memory. Keep Merle's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
