He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Dohling of Schlieff's Little City; and his parent Gertrude Bauer (Wolff). He is survived by: his children, Gary Bauer (Donna), Steve Bauer (Dora), Dave Bauer (Victoria) and Julie Clothier (Steve); his grandchildren, Janna, Christopher, Justin, Ashley, Emily, Jordan, Madison, Billy, Drew, Richie, Brooke, Bailey, Kirstie and Parker; and his sisters, Evelyn Mills and Jeanette Fox. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (2035 15th St W, Hastings, MN 55033). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery (3070 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033).
