He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gelhar and Veronica Gelhar (Girgen); his wife Rita; and his brothers, LuVerne and Jerome.
He is survived by: his children, Vernon Gelhar (Kim), Donna Fox (Nick), Julie Mann (Will), Paul Gelhar (Cathy) and John Gelhar (Wanda); his siblings, Irene Dalbotten and Herman Gelhar; and his siblings-in-law, Vince, Leo Braun and Mary Braun. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hastings Family Service, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, or to the donor's choice in memory of Richard.
