We are sad to announce that, on January 16, 2026, at the age of 86, Wayne Dunkel of Hastings, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Wayne departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Wayne. Though Wayne may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry and Bernice; his siblings, Stanley and Janet Oellien; his niece Elizabeth Christenson; and his nephew James Dunkel.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joan Christenson (Harold) and Harold "Harry" Dunkel (Dena); and his brother-in-law Carl Oellien (Mary).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Legion Post 47 or the Alzheimer's Association.
