Alan C. Melby Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alan C. Melby of Hawley, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 27, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lauritz Melby and Bertha Melby (Albertson); his wife Loretta Joanne Schroeder; his daughter Marcia Titus (Jack); his son-in-law David Kuvaas; and his siblings, Bernice Schenck, Adeline Corwin, Gloria Flom, Doris Seifert, Vivian Poach and Stanley Melby.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Kuvaas and Mark Melby (Janet); his grandchildren, Jessica Henry (Shannon), Jack Titus III (Heather), Duke Kuvaas (Amanda), Claire Schembri (Jeremy), Daniel Kuvaas, Douglas Kuvaas, Darin Kuvaas (Deirdre), Aaron Melby and Alison Melby; and his brothers, Lynn, Rodney and Gary Melby. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends.
A prayer will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 7:00 AM at the Wright Funeral Home (404 Leonard St, Hawley, MN 56549). Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lysne Lutheran Church (20500 80th Ave N, Hawley, MN 56549). A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Salem Cemetery - Fargo University (Minneapolis, MN).
