He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Gillespie, Sr. and Winnifred Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his children, Eric Gillespie (Kara) of Horace, ND, Jeffrey Gillespie (Alicia) of Audubon, MN, Jennifer Gulleson (Cameron) of Rutland, ND, Kristina Moen of Mayville, ND, Peter Gillespie of Mayville, ND, Kevin Gillespie (Heather) of Fargo, ND, Jessica Gillespie of Hitterdal, MN, Jason Gillespie (Sydney) of Rutland, ND, Liam Gillespie (Jordain Bonn) of Milnor, ND and Wade Gillespie (Bailey Adams) of Fargo, ND; and his siblings, Wanda Livingston, Bud Gillespie (Irma), Sandy Gillespie (Kristie), Randy Gillespie (Michelle), Annette Gillespie and Renee Gillespie (Laura). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home and Cremation Service- Hawley And (404 Leonard St, Hawley, MN 56549). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
