Gladys Irene Bentley Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Gladys Irene Bentley of Hawley, Minnesota. Gladys, born on December 26, 1929, passed away on September 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Martin and Julia Amanda Berg (Skiem); her son Leland; her husband Ilo Leland Bentley; her daughter Jackie; her great grandchild Jordayn; and her siblings, Evelyn, Judien, Harvey and Raymond.

She is survived by: her children, Julie Hulne, Gregory Bentley (Nancy), Ronald Bentley (Lynn), Debra Wouters (Ryan), Dorine Sorben (Roger), Jerry Bentley (Rebecca), Laurie Bentley and Jamie Bentley (Kim); and her daughter-in-law Diane Bentley. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the First Lutheran Church (912 Lake Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Oak Grove Cemetery (515 US-59, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501).
