Carolyn leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Carolyn’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Carolyn will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Schmeling and Alvina Schmeling; her brother Dicky; and her daughter Marie. She is survived by: her children, Elise Fluegel (David) of Colorado Springs and Paul McDonald (Peggy) of Rochester, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Briana Moen (Nate) of Grygla and Laurel Bergsten of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her great grandchild Adeline; and her siblings, Arlys Filley of Blooming Prairie, Arlene Draeger of Hayfield and Lynn Schmeling (Brenda) of Hayfield, Minnesota..
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Timothy Chapel at Autumn Ridge Church (3611 Salem Rd SW, Rochester, MN 55902).
