He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simonson and Ragnhilda Simonson; and his sisters, Alice, Esther, Ruby and Gloria.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Wincentsen of Year's Day; his sons, Dana (Vicki), Adrian (Monica) and Arlan (Penny); and his brother Jacob. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
