She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Wiersma and Kitty Wiersma (McBroom); her husband Willard DeGroat; her sons, Tim, Mark and Ken; her siblings, Bill Wiersma (Sylvia), Edie Wiersma, Alice Anderson (Andy), Lyle Wiersma, Ruth Danielson (Danny), Doris Watson (Rice) and Bev Dillon (Gene); and her grandson Dane Wenzel.
She is survived by: her daughters, Wendy Noren (Gene) and Susan "Tootie" Wenzel; and her grandchildren, Jade Bishop (Jamie), Kayla Bishop, Amanda Mangano, Travous DeGroat (Julee), Tanell DeGroat and Phil Noren (Stacey). She is also survived by her 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home (104 S 6th St, Olivia, MN 56277). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
