He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Kolness and Mildred Kolness; his brothers, Laddie and Billy; and his sister-in-law Debbie Kolness.
He is survived by: his sons, Chad (Nikki) of Cape Coral, FL and Ryan (Heather); his wife Becky Dyrendahl (Hendrum); his grandchildren, Lydia, Quinten, Jade, Ashton and Kenley; and his brothers, Tommy (Lori), John (Netta), Tim (Susan Dyrendahl), Randy (Susan Dyrendahl), Nathan (Kim Dyrendahl) and Beverly Kolness. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Professionally Donovan was a longtime member of the Fargo-Moorhead Ad Federation where he was honored with their yearly "Silver Medal" award in 1996 for his stellar work and contributions to the region's ad community.
