He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Wagner and Esther Thompson Wagner; his parents-in-law, Glen and Esther Tracy; his brother Donald Gary George; his niece Dawn; his sister Carolyn; and his niece Renee.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Tracy; his children, Scott (Melanie) of Medora, Brenda Severance (Tom) and Tammy Lyman (Darin) of Herman; his grandchildren, Ryan Wagner (Whitefish Woman), Sonya Lubenow (James), Matt Severance, Tara Nordquist (Cory) and TJ Severance (Mackenzie); his sisters, Elvina Aanerud (Dean) and Nadine Wagner Brown (David); his nieces and nephews, Debb, Diana, David, Jon, Jenny, Ben and Anna-Leigh; and his aunt Charlotte Hutchinson. He is also survived by great great-nieces, nephew and cousins.

He also took a special interest in the renovation of the Grant County Courthouse serving on the committee to pick and design and approve the funds for construction of the elevator and donated significant funds toward the clock on the top exterior of the courthouse that was in the original blueprints but never built.
