He was predeceased by: his parents, William Freking and Olive Freking (Luft); his brothers, Dennis Freking (Bonnie) and Bruce Freking; his parents-in-law, Walter and Agatha Liepold; and his siblings-in-law, Lauren Hagge, Rita Mae Koster (Robert) and June Freking.

He is survived by: his wife Fidelis Freking of Heron Lake; his children, Lynn Larson (Rick) of Stillwater, Alan Freking of Heron Lake, Jill Gartner (Dennis) of Mankato and Mona Buisker (Michael) of Britton, SD; his grandchildren, Alan Larson (Sarah), Eric Larson, Sara Gartner, Matthew Gartner and Grace Ouellette; and his siblings, Bonnie Hagge of Heron Lake, Delbert Freking of Heron Lake, Carroll Freking (Carolyn) of Round Lake and Richard Freking (Dianne) of Heron Lake. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
