He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Balfanz and Florence Balfanz; his siblings, Marilyn Griffith (Meland), William Balfanz, Lois Balfanz and Mae DeNucci (Louie); and his brother-in-law Roger Trapp.

He is survived by: his sister Ruby Trapp; and his sister-in-law Patricia Balfanz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the family.
