He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Rose Herda; and his grandparents, Stanley Goepfert, Joseph, Anne Herda, Rune and Lillian Fors.
He is survived by: his father Richard Lee Goepfert; his wife Colleen Goepfert (Smith); his stepsons, Ryan Ford and Cody Ford; his grandson Nolan Ford; his stepmother Judy Goepfert; his siblings, Elaine Goepfert (Jason Albrechtson), Jacob Goepfert, Luke Goepfert and Jamie Fors; his grandmother Joyce Goepfert; and his siblings' children, Matthew Goepfert, Aiden Barberg, Dylan Barberg and Elizabeth Albrechtson. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family feels that Eric would want donations made in his memory to: Inyo County Search and Rescue, P.O. Box 982, Bishop, CA 93515.
