She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Halverson and Aileen Halverson; her husband Alden Suomala; her son Craig Grandahl; and her siblings, Joyce Staab, Roger, Jack and Terry Halverson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sandy Schumacher, Sue Hayes, Tuuli Suomala and Becky Suomala; her siblings, Karen Miller, Janice Larson, Duane Halverson and Ken Halverson; and her close friend Warren Hauschild. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
