He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Boerger and Blanche Boerger (Gunderson); his wife Connie Walkama (Peterson); his daughter Denise; his brother Allan Boerger; and his aunt Myrtle Gunderson.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Boerger (Barb) of International Falls, DeAnn Carlson (Chad) of Wakefield, MI and Darryl Boerger (Julie); his stepson Joe Walkama of Hoyt Lakes; his grandchildren, John, Knute Boerger, Ashley Brown (Ryan), Tori Carlson, Sara and Lauren Boerger; his great grandchildren, Sutton and Sawyer; and his siblings, LeRoy Boerger (Betty), Patricia Fields and Lois Ingebretson (DeWayne). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home (402 W 3rd Ave N, Aurora, MN 55705). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
