He was predeceased by: his father Wilf Sanders; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Joan Allison. He is survived by: his mother Lyla Sanders; his wife Maria Jane Allison; his son Justin (Melissa); his grandson Caleb; his daughters, Madeline and Abigail; his brother Scott (Marlene); his siblings-in-law, Susan Allison, David Allison and Michael Allison (Lisa); and his nieces and nephews, Kyla Welch, Laura Smith (Glen), Emily Sanders (Cody), Jessica Sanders (Zander), Avery, Olivia, Bella Allison, Ian and Graeme Kitt.

As an active volunteer, his contributions to the community were broad and many.
