He was predeceased by: his father William Bartelt; his brother Paul Bartelt; and his parents-in-law, Lyle and Helen Born (Kiner). He is survived by: his mother Jeanette Bartelt (Prehn); his wife Peggy Born of Ann's Catholic Church; his children, Matthew Bartelt (Miranda Weedman), Megan Yetzer (Bradley) and Brett Bartelt; his grandchildren, Parker, Tate and Ella Yetzer; his siblings, Jeff Bartelt (Barb), Jon Bartelt, William Bartelt, Timothy Bartelt (Kim) and Amy Bartelt-Fessel (Ryan Atherton); and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Hartfiel (Lane) and Kristin Bartelt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Ann Catholic Church (307 W 2nd St, Janesville, MN 56048). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery (37459 35th St, Janesville, MN 56048).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Ann's Catholic Church or JWP Public School.
