He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vanderberg and Etta Vanderberg (Stykel); his wife Marte Canton; his daughter Pat Smedsrud; and his siblings, Charles Vanderberg, Jr., Glenn Vanderberg and Ruth Pankratz.
He is survived by: his sons, Joe Vanderberg of Arlington, TX and Al Vanderberg (Carla) of Spencer, IA; his son-in-law Steve Smedsrud of Luverne; his grandchildren, Tony Smedsrud (Lindsey Kozel), Brady Vanderberg (Megan), Casey Vanderberg (Alexa), Zachery Vanderberg (Leah), Kynzie Zeutenhorst (Joe), Chaz Smedsrud and Caroline Vanderberg; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Vanderberg, Hayes Vanderberg, Henry Zeutenhorst, Margaret Vanderberg and Jaxon Vanderberg.
