He is survived by: his wife Linda Haavisto (Anderson-Antil) of Kasson, MN; his children, Wanda LaRue of Clarion, IA and Mark Haavisto (Therese) of Glasgow, KY; his stepsons, James Kraus (Mayuri) of Fayetteville, NC and Jeffrey Kraus (Stephanie) of Winona, MN; his grandchildren, Elaine Crandall of Clarion, IA, Kevin Kraus of Fayetteville, NC, Matthew Kraus (Megan Ritting) of Rochester, MN, Rose Kraus (Denver Bruessel) of Kasson, MN, Kennedy Kraus (Alex Cannon) of Canton, MI and Chirayu "C. K." Khongtrakun (Aiko) of Hawaii; and his siblings, William Haavisto of Cokato, MN, Harold Haavisto (Mia) of Maple Plain, MN, Helen Jensen of Glenco, MN, Betty Carmack of Dexter, MO and Lorraine Haavisto of Annandale, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
