He was predeceased by: his parents, John Peterson and Myrtle Peterson; his wife Beverly Ann Crabb; his siblings, Myrlin "Kelly" Peterson, Duane "Duke" Peterson, Virginia Schleicher, Myron "Mike" Peterson, Dale "Red" Peterson, Betty Jane Lutterman, Janet Erbstoesser and Joanne Reese; and his grandson Karl Haugen.
He is survived by: his children, Heidi Haugen (Harris) of Kenyon, Durk Peterson (Deidre) of Benbrook, Texas and Heather Tousignant (Joe) of Kenyon; his grandchildren, Anders Haugen (Adriana), Morgan Anderson (late Karl Haugen), Mikkel Haugen (Gabbi), Laura Meola (Joe), Eric Peterson, Cole Tousignant (Carly) and Hannah Jenniges (Drew); his sisters, Delyte Robertson and Ione Maxwell; and his close friend Doris Walker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In place of flowers, memorials may be directed to the K-W Education Foundation, First Lutheran Church, or the Osman Shrine Auxiliary.
