He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Gerdes and Eleanor Gerdes (Anderson); his brother Kenneth; and his nephew Mark Gerdes. He is survived by: his sister-in-law Karon Gerdes; and his nieces, Monique Dorow (Scott), Melinda Gerdes, Katherine Gerdes (Lynn Peters) and Rebecca Gerdes Lee. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews and many neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church (217 Dakota Ave NE, Pennock, MN 56279). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
